These J Class Yachts are just insanely big! When they were first built these mammoths sailed around with masts around 160 feet tall but because of rig failures the boats changed design. The boats in this class are all built similarly but vary slightly: between 120-135 feet in length and a sail area of around 7,500 ft². In 2000 the owners of the remaining J Class Yachts formed the official J Class Association and regattas are currently held around the world.
