Using supplied HDPE, a whistle was designed in Creo and milled in BU's EPIC workshop with a toolpath created in GibbsCAM. Preliminary research on how whistles work was applied to the design. My personal goal for this project was to design a whistle that was different from the conventional shape and structure. Multiple whistles were milled from the same sheet, which was accounted for in the toolpath. The final part was assembled in two halves.
Goals
- Perform background research on whistle operation.
- Use Creo to design 3D part.
- Use GibbsCAM to write part's toolpath.
- Refine and assemble parts after milling.
