Dakine Club Wagon 155cm

How do I fly with all of my sailing gear? Since I often have to travel with larger items like rudders and foils, I’ve found some bags that make life easier. This Dakine Club Wagon 155cm model is perfect. It’s large enough to fit 2 assembled Nacra 17 T rudders inside while light enough to also contain most of my clothes and still remain underweight. And the best part: it has wheels! I’ll list its full dimensions and weight below.

It’s a soft waterproof bag with a long zipper on top that makes loading and unloading easy. The corners hold some structure adding a layer of protection to the contents, especially fragile rudder blades. The spine of the bag does not have any of its own support so it can be difficult to wheel around without a structural element like rudders packed inside. However, this does allow me to fold it up for easy storage when I arrive at venues.

This Club Wagon bag is too large for standard luggage restrictions so it can be classified as either standard baggage with an oversize fee or as sporting equipment. Advice on how I pack my large bags for each airline is outlined out this article: (in progresss)

Sailing is a unique niche sport and we often have problems that are not directly solved by the standard consumer marketplace. This bag was originally designed for transporting kiteboards. It’s always great to find alternative functions!

Dimensions: 155 x 50 x 25 cm, 8.8lbs
